I am working as an Associate Senior User Experience designer for India's leading UX design studio, NetBramha (click here to view website), no better place than this to sharpen my craft. While designing for healthcare, fintech, e-commerce, enterprise software, automobile, education, I have gained multi-faceted skills and knowledge. I have collaborated with cross functional teams and taken initiatives to improve design processes in the studio. I have worked with amazing mentors, who have taught me priceless things. From being trusted with big projects as a junior to mentoring junior designers as a senior, it has challenged me and taught me how to take seemingly impossible things head-on gracefully.
To me, design...
is a holistic discipline that you can use to probe different areas of life. I believe it has great power to create big impact. Someone (Voltaire & Spiderman) said - with great power, comes great responsibility. Therefore, as a designer, I feel incredible responsibility to leverage this powerful tool to innovate and solve problems in the areas of climate & social impact. How did this purpose come into being?
It was in 2019...
when I was studying in NIFT Bangalore, as a fashion design student, we got introduced to sustainability as a subject. Learning that the fashion industry was one of the largest contributor to pollution, was eye-opening for me. Interning for a fast fashion brand, hit the nail in the wall when I first-hand realised about what goes behind just one piece of clothing. I started to be more aware of consumerism and climate change. It became clear to me, that change had to be big.
What's next...
is finding problems to solve in the space of climate and social impact with design. To bring innovation and impact together. To connect and collaborate with people with the same sense of purpose. To spark conversations and get more people talking about this.
